Mariposa Gardens

Mariposa Gardens has been a fixture of the Mission District and Potrero Hill for over forty years, providing two and three-bedroom apartments to low-income families with several original residents still in place. The complex is built around an interior courtyard with a gardening area and landscaped play space sheltered from the surrounding streets, designed to give children room to play and parents room to relax away from the traffic of Mariposa Street and Potrero Avenue.

We opened Day 2 at this property to anchor the Potrero cluster, with photography focused on the courtyard, exterior frontages on both streets, and the community gardening areas. Aerial drone coverage captured the building footprint and the property's position at the edge of the Mission/Potrero transition.
