Esperanza Apartments is one of Mission Housing's earliest developments, completed in 1976 as one of the organization's first major new construction projects. The 39-unit senior community on 19th Street features 27 studios and 12 one-bedroom apartments, a landscaped garden terrace, and a community room. The entire complex was refurbished in 2015 with modernized units and improvements to common areas, exterior, energy systems, and the garage. We captured Esperanza with attention to the garden courtyard and the building's quiet residential character, balancing exterior streetscape coverage with the interior community spaces that define the resident experience.
